My 2 Secrets to Happiness

You know what I just absolutely love?

Learning

I can’t help but stare everywhere I go.

Eyes wide

Mind open

Imagination going

That’s how I work.

I walk into a library, and I want to read every word and remember it.

I go to church, and I eagerly listen to the testimonies and stories shared from other people to learn about them and about God.

I listen to podcasts, take classes, do homework, study, listen, read, and watch.

All so I can learn.

I’m so grateful Heavenly Father gave me the gift of learning.

I’m so grateful for the progression.

I had an interesting experience a couple of months ago. After a crazy day/week, I had optimistically told my friend about what she asked: “Why is your life always so good?!?”

I laughed and smiled.

I have 2 secrets.

I’ve shared the first: learning. I love it. And because I love it, life is always exciting! It’s an adventure every day. I grasp the unknown and learn. I’m not afraid.

My second secret, I choose to love life. I smile at it. I look at the obstacles in life as opportunities. I find the good, and I make that my whole world.

I focus on it. I love it.

Optimism has always come easily to me. It’s been a gift I’m grateful to have. And quite frankly, it scares me to think of what my life would be like if I always saw it from a different perspective.

Being optimistic does not mean overlooking. Being optimistic means recognizing the situation and choosing the good. Choosing to focus all energy on the good things. The positive things.

Not overlooking the negative, but focusing on the good.

I’m no neuroscientist, but by doing this for many years, I have trained my brain. I think positively as a first and second thought (most of the time). I do recognize the trials. The hard things. The sad feelings and the loneliness. I let myself feel that, and then I get back up.

I fight against the hard and lunge for the good. I grasp and hold onto that.

There are tears. Always will be. It is hard. Always will be that too. But I’m grateful for that.

Because, like I said in the beginning, I love to learn. I love to progress.

Without trials, I would never learn. I would never progress. I would never make mistakes.

I’m grateful for my trials. Even the ones I have right now that I battle day by day, with optimism.

You see?

That’s why those two things are my secrets to life. With them, I find success and joy.

With them, I progress,

and I succeed in life.

I LOVE LIFE! Try it sometime. It works. I can say because I’ve done it and I love it.
