My End of 2025

Oh what a joy the holidays are!

I just love this time of year.

When it ends,

And I walk into the room now missing a Christmas tree,

I feel sad for a moment.

Happens every year.

But then, I get excited because I think of what’s to come.

The goals I have planned,

And the sun that will come again to Idaho.

I think of my favorite activities that fill my spring and summer.

Boating.

Hiking.

Sunsets.

Running.

So many exciting things!

Thank goodness we have an exhilarating year ahead.

To start the new year, I’ll recap the end of my 2025…

This was a year that brought me the most happiness I've ever felt.

Coupled with the most sorrow I have yet experienced.

Balance…

To end the year, we did some exciting things!

We did a humanitarian scavenger hunt. I have a YouTube video here. Watch to get more details on what we did.

It was such an excellent way to feel the Christmas spirit.

That was a highlight and a newfound tradition for my family.

Reigning in the holiday spirit, Logan and I made a gingerbread house we deemed “the shack,” resembling our first house. It all makes sense if you’ve seen it.

We won.

In our own minds, of course.

Repeating a date Logan and I went on last year, we made sugar cookies and frosted them. We had some real winners… and some real… interesting cookies... to put it politely...

Carrying on my family’s tradition, we played some ruthless Nerf gun hide-and-seek.

That was eventful.

I’ll end it there.

And, for our second Christmas Eve tradition, we stayed up until the late hours of the night. As a big group, we watched Psych, I did some coloring, and we started Lego Batman. Logan and I tapped out early because we are old people.

The rest of the group stayed up with their favorite snacks and enjoyed time together.

Because of this routine, Christmas unwrapping starts later than the average family on Christmas morning.

We took our time, and it was perfect.

A small group of my family attended a Jazz game.

They had a 22% chance of winning at the start.

They pulled it off with a crazy buzzer-beater ending the game. That was quite exciting!

To finish off the year, we spent valuable time with Logan’s family relaxing and completing puzzles, playing games, and riding the four-wheeler through the morning frost…

I never feel quite ready for the holidays to end, as I previously shared. Nonetheless, they end.

I am looking forward to the rest of 2026.

Filled with adventure

And hopefully… more puzzles.
